We launched this publication in 2013 to keep our community informed when the Board of Directors failed to do so. We went quiet when things improved.

They haven’t.

A new pattern of conduct — documented, witnessed, and formally censured by the Board itself — demands that our neighbors be informed. We are here to do that.

Dear Neighbor,

We have yet another real serious issue that has come to our attention lately; And it is not our General Manager’s criminal past. It is that Board President Karl Kieninger, Vice President Soheila Kobler, Secretary Barbara Drasheff, Treasurer Joseph Purcell and Director Art Sagy are trying to spin and cover up their collective ineptness regarding the criminal past of our General Manager and the  potential financial devastation it brings to our Galaxy community! We have been asked to post this letter  on behalf of Mr. Eugene Blum. Mr. Blum is a very well respected member of our community. He served as the Parliamentarian for the Board of Directors from 2008 until he resigned at the end of 2013. He also was a member of the Union Negotiating Committee as well as the Chair of the Socrates Cafe Club.

Setting Right What Went Wrong

Introduction

This article relies on Gail Hoffman’s description of the Election Committee’s conduct of the March Tower II Elections to the Galaxy Board. Those Elections were marked by serious Violations of the Election Rules, which this article analyzes in detail. Which candidate won and which candidate lost is not the issue. It is the Violations that must be addressed. If they are not, then in future elections they will be repeated and we will end up with a Board elected not by a majority of the Owners but by a few people who know how to manipulate elections. Dear Karl:

I have seen your campaign literature and am compelled to respond given how misleading the image is that you are portraying.

After working with you and the Board as a Co-Chair on the Financial Advisory Committee (FAC), and because of the horrible manner in which you cut the FAC out of the picture at the Galaxy both in late 2012 and 2013, it is time to  speak candidly.   

In a nutshell, virtually all of which you are claiming credit for in your campaign flyers was achieved by the FAC working with prior Boards and otherwise is an overstatement or misleading.

Dear Neighbor,

After reading Karl Kieninger’s flyer I’m compelled to write and tell you the truth because it’s imperative for all of us to be informed about what’s taking place in the Boardroom. Please be involved by voting in the upcoming election on March 5th, since this is the time when our voices can be heard.  

Karl and I served on the same Board for a full term. Unfortunately, Karl was never a team player, his votes were always politically motivated and he never tried to work with all Directors. And therefore, it did not take long for the Board to become fractured. Directors voted across the table in 2010 and 2011, but the moment Karl was appointed an officer, the Board vote on the majority of issues was split 5 to 4. Read the rest of this entry »

Does Karl Kieninger Belong On The Galaxy Board Of Directors?

No, he doesn’t.

Some time in the Summer of 2013 a friend invited me to meet with Benito’s Restaurant’s former General Manager and Head Waitress, Ms. Terri Reilly.

Nadine Badalaty’s letter, that we all received recently regarding “Table 11” at Benito’s Restaurant, brought back memories of my meeting with Terry Reilly. I would like to share my recollection of that meeting with you because one of the participants at “Table 11”, Mr.Karl Kieininger , currently the President of the GTCA Board of Directors, is running for re-election. We’d like to share a short letter and several documents regarding Barbara Tokay who, as the letter will surely inform you (and we agree) must not be allowed to be elected to a position on the Board of Directors.

Barbara Tokay is running for a seat on the Board from District I (Tower 1 and Building 5).  Ms. Tokay served on the Board from 2008 to 2009.   Her short time on the Board was marked by the following significant events and they are all anyone would have to know to consider not voting for her again.

A real election fraud opportunity at the Galaxy has arrived:

Historically, between 40% to 50% of Galaxy homeowners prefer to cast their vote in person. Mayor Drasheff, the Galaxy Election Committee Chair and his children on the Board of Directors, Barbara Drasheff and Joe Drasheff (née Purcell) want to stop homeowners from voting in person and only allow us to cast our ballot by mail.

Unfortunately, only a few of us know that in the recent July 2013 election 75 mail-in ballots went missing overnight. Fortunately, the Election Committee was alerted to the missing ballots by many homeowners who had mailed in their ballots but came down to vote anyway, only to learn that their mail-in ballots were missing. Dear Neighbors,

Article 1.2 and 1.7 of GTCA Director Code of Ethics states:“A person may not use the position of Director for personal profit, gain or other personal advantage over the other unit owners of the Condominium.”

“A Director shall not accept gifts or other things of significant value from those with whom the Condo is or may be doing business.”

That being said:

I spoke to Terri, the ex-manager of Benitos and read her statement about improper activities which involved two of our current sitting Directors and took place at Benito’s last year (attached). Other friends of mine, who regularly frequented Benito’s also witnessed this and mentioned a series of meetings and meals which were attended by Eran Scheflan (GTCA President at the time), Karl Keinenger (GTCA asst. Secretary at the time), and town officials among others. Given what I’ve learned, I question the new board’s decision in electing Karl Keininger the new President of the GTCA.
